RealWire, the UK online press release distribution company, today launched Lissted, a ground-breaking web application which makes it easier than ever for PR, marketing and media professionals to find, listen to and monitor the media on Twitter.

The revolutionary new tool is based on a growing database of over 10,000 journalists, media professionals and outlets on Twitter. Every profile on it has been individually created by the RealWire team, researching each individual’s interests, geography, outlet and role.

Lissted uses this information to dynamically stream and index around 100,000 tweets per day, monitoring conversations in real time for subject, content and even any links that are shared.

Anyone with a Twitter account can use Lissted to:

  • Find journalists and other media professionals by interests, geography or outlet.

  • Listen to relevant media conversations by searching 30 days of the curated tweetstream.

  • Monitor media mentions of topics, brands or people and be alerted by email- even when the user isn’t logged on.

Commenting on the launch Adam Parker, RealWire’s chief executive, said; “It is now the case that news not only breaks on Twitter, but it is also actively, and sometimes robustly, discussed and commented on by members of the media. True to its origins, (Lissted effectively started life as a blog post in 2008) the 'Find' function is free* to use, and PR and marketing professionals can sign up for a free seven day trial of any of the paid 'Listen', 'Monitor' or 'Pro' service levels.

Journalists and media professionals who appear on Lissted benefit from significantly enhanced free service, with free access to ‘Listen’ and discounted access to the ‘Monitor’ and ‘Pro’ service levels.
