Sony Ericsson launched the third phase today of its ground breaking "Spark Something" campaign to support the SatioTM and AinoTM handsets.  The campaign, which has already created the world's first online flashmob (a screen invasion on several Yahoo homepages around the world over the last few weeks,) will now see the world's first automated use of Twitter to create real life events.

As of today, users who tweet #pumpt will be able to watch as their tweet prompts the real life inflation of a space hopper. They will also be able to suggest a possible use for the inflated space hopper and the best of these suggestions will be re-created and filmed.

Already the campaign has seen more than 180,000 virtual space hoppers created by users engaging with the campaign site and a YouTubeTM video of the TVC has generated more than 800,000 views. So far more than 1,200 people have taken part in six online screen invasions of sites across the globe, using a browser cookie to link their personally created space hopper to their current location.

On each screen invasion a countdown alerted users to the imminence of the flash mob. As it reached zero a display advert used the browser cookie to work out which registered users were present and allowed their personal space hoppers to break out of the advert.

Sony Ericsson today reveals its stunning new television commercial for the new C905 Cyber-shot™ camera phone. The company commissioned professional photographer Matt Stuart to take photos, using the 8.1 megapixel C905 Cyber-shot™ camera phone, to use in the launch of its new campaign.

 

A number of enormous photos taken by Matt Stuart using the C905 Cyber-shot™ camera phone are placed in unusual locations, to show how anyone can experiment and be more spontaneous when taking and exhibiting their photos with this high quality camera phone.

 

Viewers see a CCTV camera mounted on a traffic light in the city centre. The camera’s mechanical head turns and stops to look at a large picture of a young woman cheekily poking her tongue out.

 

In another scene, huge pictures of brightly-coloured budgerigars stand high up against the city skyline, and has crowds of passersby stopping to look in wonder.

Sony Ericsson has launched a global blog partnership programme for its mobile camera phone competition World View 2008. For the first time a select number of bloggers will be invited to become exclusive partners of one of the world’s largest mobile phone camera competitions. Blog partners can display a widget on their site stating that they are an official partner of the global competition. The widget displays rotating photographs that have been entered into the competition. 

 

Each blog partner who joins the scheme will also be entered into a special competition with their own chance to win a holiday worth £3,000. The winner will be the blog that drives the most entries to the World View website.

 

The blog partnership scheme will run from September 22nd until the close of the World View 2008 competition on 31st October 2008.

 

World View 2008 launched for its third year in July. This competition allows photography enthusiasts to test their skills and promote their best image with a global audience. Each entrant has the chance to win one of two holidays of a lifetime; the “judge’s choice winner’ will win a trip of a lifetime worth £10,000, and the “people’s choice winner” worth £5,000.

 

 

Last year’s competition was very successful and received more than 70,000 entries from across the globe, and with the announcement of the new blog partnership scheme, entries are expected to increase significantly.
