Now journalists, publishers and bloggers can follow sector specific news release feeds via their Twitter account. From today RealWire, the online news release distribution specialists, have introduced 35 different Twitter feeds covering sectors such as Telecoms, IT, Banking and Healthcare. Subscribers can follow one or more of the feeds based on their news preferences rather than having to subscribe to a feed of all of RealWire’s content. (Full details of the feeds and their relevant Twitter accounts can be found at www.realwire.com/Twitter). The Twitter microblogging platform has experienced phenomenal growth over the last six months and is now ranked in the top 50 websites in the world. The addition of Twitter to the news dissemination armoury delivers two great benefits to news release users. The one sided permission process allows only those that choose to, to follow news release content and the 140 character limit saves reading time when selecting news. “We are passionate about ensuring that our news recipients get material that is relevant to their needs,” said chief executive Adam Parker. “It saddens me when news release distributors are satisfied with a one-size-fits-all-approach. It wastes time and resources and can be counter-productive to their clients. “Just providing a single Twitter feed for all content, which appears to be the industry norm where Twitter has been adopted, we felt was hugely unhelpful. What we have done is develop a system so that receivers of news can choose to follow individual industry specific feeds that are relevant to them.” This new development comes alongside further Twitter integration within the RealWire service including the ability for clients and readers of news releases to create and publish tailored tweets relating to their releases to their own followers. ENDS RealWire It provides a unique service by not only distributing news and multimedia content but by providing clients with analysis of the resulting influence that their news has generated online. RealWire was the first UK distribution company to introduce the Social Media News Release – a new kind of press release to cater for the social media world. |
