Peugeot is delighted to announce that, to celebrate the launch of its brand new 308 Coupé Cabriolet – the convertible for all seasons - it has commissioned BOND, the all-female multi-million selling original electric string quartet, to write and record a new arrangement of classical music’s most popular work – the Four Seasons. The recording is available exclusively through Peugeot’s website. 

An innovative move, this unorthodox release (four tracks; one representing each of the seasons) makes Peugeot the first car manufacturer to record and release a mini-album exclusively for free download.   

The modern interpretation of the Baroque masterpiece has been recorded to mark the launch of the Peugeot 308 CC model - an innovative addition to the Peugeot family with a first-in-its class Airwave Neck Heating System that blows air around the neck, allowing the driver the pleasure of enjoying a convertible all year round.  

In lending their genre-defying sound to Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, the Bond girls were inspired by their good friend and colleague, Nigel Kennedy. Says viola player, Tania: “We were so happy to be invited by Peugeot to record our take on the Four Seasons. This is our own celebration of one of the greatest and most exciting pieces of music and which all string players adore performing.” This also marks the first time Bond unveils its new member, violinist Elspeth Hanson. Elspeth was chosen from hundreds of musicians and is the beautiful and hugely talented violinist who played alongside David Beckham; guitar legend, Jimmy Page and Leona Lewis at last year’s handover to Britain at the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics.  

British-based Bond (Eos Chater, violin; Elspeth Hanson, violin;  Gay-Yee Westerhoff, cello, and Tania Davis, viola) will be staging a string of free live performances as they accompany the Peugeot 308 CC road-show throughout the country (dates include Glasgow, Birmingham and Newcastle). Free of charge to the public, the events promise to live up to Bond’s vibrant reputation for delivering its spectacular musical and visual performance. 

The launch of the 308 CC brings something new and exciting to the Peugeot portfolio and with its low sporty profile it is the must-have buy of the year for style enthusiasts. The car’s four full-size seats capitalise on the renowned strength of the existing 308 range, whilst still embodying the spirit of the highly acclaimed 307 Coupé Cabriolet. But only with the launch of 308 CC can a convertible be enjoyed whatever the weather, as the car’s inbuilt air vent diffuses warm air around the occupant’s neck - making the Peugeot 308 CC the only convertible in its class that is adaptable to every season.

Together Eos Chater (violin), Elspeth Hanson (violin), Gay-Yee Westerhoff (cello) and Tania Davis (violin/viola) complete the group of talented and beautiful girls who make up Bond. Since the quartet’s debut on Decca/Universal, the Bond girls have sold well over 4 million albums worldwide, making them the best-selling string quartet of all time.

Currently working with international superstar violinist, Nigel Kennedy, on a project exploring gypsy music, its roots, importance and influences, the group has built a very active and loyal fan base over the years, including through its associations with many high profile international brands. People Magazine described their sound as “irresistible ear candy” while USA Today called them “glamorous and provocative.”

Fans and critics alike are mesmerised by Bond’s contagious energy, which leaves everyone wanting more! The band has achieved gold and platinum in most major international territories and has played at many major international sporting events, including the FA Cup, Rugby World Cup and Formula One events. A major highlight of Bond's career was being personally invited by Luciano Pavarotti to perform the hit song, Caruso, alongside the great Maestro at his famous Pavarotti & Friends annual charity concert in Italy.

EOS CHATER
Eos Chater (Violin) holds an Honors degree from the Royal College of Music. She is from Cardiff, Wales and, before signing to Decca/Universal with Bond, Eos performed in chamber groups dedicated to performing music by living composers. A seasoned producer and writer, particularly for music in television and TV advertising, Eos has also written many string arrangements and played with groups including The Divine Comedy, Cocteau Twins, Oi Va Voi, Lamb and Julian Cope, as well as performing in music videos for Gabrielle and Mark Knopfler.

ELSPETH HANSON
Scottish-born Elspeth (Violin) is the violinist who played alongside David Beckham, guitar legend Jimmy Page and Leona Lewis at the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics. A graduate of Manchester University and currently finding time to study for her Masters at the Royal Academy of Music, Elspeth also played solo for the Paralympics Closing Ceremony and has recorded and performed with the London Symphony Orchestra, The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and the Prague Philharmonia. She has recently performed alongside Annie Lennox, Beverley Knight and Ruby Wax for Oxfam Aid.

TANIA DAVIS
Tania Davis (Violin/Viola) is from Sydney, Australia, and holds a Bachelor of Music degree with First Class Honours from the Sydney Conservatorium and a Postgraduate Diploma in Performance with Distinction from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London. Prior to joining Bond, this virtuoso violinist and writer performed with chamber groups and orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, Australian Chamber Orchestra and Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

GAY-YEE WESTERHOFF
Gay-Yee Westerhoff, from Yorkshire in England, is the quartet’s cellist and holds an Honours degree in Music from Trinity College London. Before Bond's rise to fame, Gay-Yee worked all over the world with groups including Primal Scream, the Spice Girls, Talvin Singh, Embrace, Sting, Bryan Adams and Barry Manilow. Gay-Yee is a prolific composer, arranger and producer and is currently working on songs with the legendary Don Black.
